    Substitute Teacher Requirements
    To be considered to become a substitute in Grand Saline ISD you must complete the in person substitute training.

Bilingual Teacher
 Location:  Elementary, PreK

 Description: Elementary Bilingual Teacher for PreK
 Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.  Valid Texas teaching certification with required endorsement for subject/level assigned  General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.  

Bus Driver
 Location: Transportation Department

 Description: Operate school bus and related equipment to provide safe and orderly transportation of students and other authorized persons on assigned route and to and from other designated locations.
 Qualifications: Positive attitude
Ability to keep a pleasant disposition while working with children of all ages
Valid Texas commercial driver’s license (Class B)
School Bus Driver Certification

Substitute Cafeteria
 Location: Cafeteria Department

 Description: GSISD needs to have personnel available to fill in when regular cutodians are out of District. 
 Qualifications: Ability to understand written and verbal food preparation and safety instructions,
working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures,
ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment and tools, ability to
perform basic math, knowledge of food service helpful.

Substitute Custodian

 Description: GSISD needs to have personnel available to fill in when regular cutodians are out of District. 
 Qualifications: Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures;  Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance; Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment; ability to properly handle cleaning supplies.  Experience Preferred

Substitute Bus Driver
 Location: Transportation Department

 Description: GSISD needs have personnel available to drive when regular bus drivers are out of District. Candidate must be able to pass background check as well as alcohol and drug test. 
 Qualifications: Positive attitude
Ability to keep a pleasant disposition while working with children of all ages
 Valid Texas commercial driver’s license (Class B)
