    To be considered to become a substitute in Grand Saline ISD you must complete the in person substitute training.

Speech Language Pathology Assistant

Speech Language Pathologist

 Description: To provide support in the area of speech and related service to students. 
 Qualifications: 1. Master’s degree; 
2. Valid Texas license as a speech language pathologist/therapist granted by the Texas Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology or TEA Speech Therapy certificate; 
3. Skills in the use of tests and measurements for assessing speech-language disorders; 
4. Knowledge of evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation of speech, language, and hearing disorders; 

4-8 Science Teacher

 Description: Assist in preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements.  Work under supervision of classroom teacher.  
 Qualifications:  High school diploma or GED.  Experience related to working with students and parents.  Desire and ability to work with and effectively communicate with staff, students, and parents.  Keyboarding and computer proficiency required.

Middle School Band Director

 Description: Strong program looking for a qualified individual who will assist with all band activities: HS marching and concert, MS concert, and homogeneous beginner classes. 
Prepare, plan, and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, 
materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of difference in learning styles.  
Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
 Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree from accredited university.

3. Knowledge of overall operation of instrumental music program
4. General knowledge of curriculum and instruction. 
5. Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.

7. Establish performance requirements, enforce academic requirements, and verify each student’s eligibility to participate in band.
8. Direct and manage the instrumental music and band program at assigned middle school. 

Vocational Agriculture Mechanics Teacher

8. Serve as advisor to local Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter, including planning and conducting leadership, citizenship, cooperative, career development, and competitive activities for students at local, regional, and state level.

 Description: Food Preparation and Serving, Safety and Sanitation, Some Heavy Lifting
 Qualifications: Ability to understand written and verbal food preparation and safety instructions, working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures, ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment and tools, ability to perform basic math, knowledge of food service helpful. Must have or obtaining food handler's card.

Bilingual Teacher

Bus Driver

 Description: Operate school bus and related equipment to provide safe and orderly transportation of students and other authorized persons on assigned route and to and from other designated locations.
 Qualifications: Positive attitude

 Qualifications: Ability to understand written and verbal food preparation and safety instructions,
working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures,
ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment and tools, ability to
perform basic math, knowledge of food service helpful.

Substitute Custodian

 Qualifications: Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures;  Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance; Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment; ability to properly handle cleaning supplies.  Experience Preferred

Substitute Bus Driver
