New Elementary School Construction Progressing Nicely
Construction of the new Grand Saline Elementary School continues to progress on schedule. Principal Rhonda Orren expects to be moving in by mid-summer in plenty of time for the first day of school next year! Click on the picture below to see more pictures of the progress on this amazing facility!

Beginning in spring 2012, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR ™) will replace the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). The STAAR program at grades 3-8 will assess the same subjects and Grades that are currently assessed on TAKS. At high school, however, grade-specific assessments will be replaced with 12 end-of-course (EOC) assessments: Algebra I, geometry, Algebra II, biology, chemistry, physics, English I, English II, English III, world geography, world history, and U.S. history. Old Elementary School/Student Photos Needed
We are in the process of searching for old photos depicting elementary students, classrooms, or Indian mascots from years gone by. These can be actual photos of Grand Saline students or photos in general of scenes that would remind us of elementary children or activities over the past decades.
Photos may be sent to the elementary office or the superintendent’s office. If you would like to have your photo back please make sure your name and contact information are on the back.
