Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees consists of seven board members elected for terms of three years.  The elections are held in May of each year.  By law, each member of the board serves without compensation of any kind.

The board has final approval on numerous items involved with the school district, but the primary responsibility of the trustees is to adopt a budget and set the tax rate. This is done each year in August.

Providing a quality education to the students of GSISD in a safe, secure environment is the primary goal of the board.  We accomplish this by hiring excellent teachers, administrators, and support staff, as well as providing the resources necessary to facilitate learning.  Under the leadership of the Superintendant, we are always looking for ways to enhance the learning process.

The Board of Trustees meets the third Monday of each month in the Middle School Library.  The meeting times are 6:30pm and the public is invited to attend.
